This recently refurbished two bedroom apartment, situated within a secluded listed building in the heart of Lerwick’s historic old town provides an ideal base for your trip to Shetland. Chapel House was converted into nine properties in 2003/04, before which it had a colourful existence as a shopping and office complex, youth café, dance venue and place of worship. It is one of the architectural highlights of Lerwick’s old town. Although number nine is situated to the rear of the house, its split level nature means that it enjoys views over Bressay Sound and Lerwick’s charming lanes network. The lower floor comprises of an enormous master bedroom with walk in cupboard, a further double bedroom, hallway and a shower room and toilet (with laundry facilities). An attractive wooden stairway leads to the open plan upper floor, which contains a fitted kitchen, dining area and lounge. In addition to the two double rooms, there are also three fold out mattresses, a single sofa bed and an infant’s cot. A shared courtyard had a previous existence as a beer garden, so is therefore well suited to BBQs when weather permits! There is ample free car parking nearby, while the property’s central location makes it ideal for those who prefer to walk (the property is minutes away from spectacular coastal walks around the Knab and Breiwick Bay). Situated within the town centre, the property is seconds from Lerwick’s restaurants and bars and is within walking distance of several bus stops and Lerwick’s main taxi rank.
